Have a monster birthday cards

I made two more cards using Create a Smile freebies. I started with the bird and now the monster! The sentiment is also from them. You can see the bird cards I made here.

Hice dos tarjetas más utilizando imágenes gratis de Create a Smile. El mensaje también es un freebie de ellos. ¡Comencé con los pajaritos y ahora los monstruos! Puedes ver las tarjetas que hice con los pajaritos aquí. 

After watercoloring the monsters with watercolor pencils I used masking fluid to cover the monster. I wanted a good mask so I could color the background easily.
Luego de colorear los monstruos con lápices de acuarela utilicé líquido de enmascarar para cubrirlos. Quería una buena cobertura para colorear los fondos más fácilmente.

I had fun creating these cards...now my kiddos want to give it a try.
Me divertí un montón haciendo estas tarjetas...ahora mis peques quieren intentarlo.

A little birdie told me... Card

I made some cards using a freebie from Create a Smile, I found them on Instagram and wanted to try their designs. I saw some cute examples so I gave it a try. I like this bird so much!
Hice unas tarjetas utilizando unas imágenes gratis ¨freebies¨ de Create a Smile, los encontré en Instagram y quería probar sus diseños. Vi unos ejemplos bellísimos así que decidí probar. ¡Este pajarito me encanta!

Estoy presentando estas tarjetas para un llamado al Equipo de Diseño.

I coloured the bird with watercolor pencils and inked the edges of the panels with distress ink using an ink blending tool.
Le puse color al pajarito con lápices de acuarela y un poco de tinta Distress difuminado en los bordes de los paneles.

I found the perfect sentiment looking through my stash, it belongs to a set from Stephanie Barnard. I decided to use it in all the cards, they are very similar but with a bit of change in the design.
Encontré el mensaje perfecto buscando entre mis cosas, pertenece a un set de sellos de Stephanie Barnard. Decidí utilizarlo en todas las tarjetas, son muy similares pero con algunos cambios en el diseño.

I also added some glossy accents to the birds´ eyes to give it shine and dimension.
También le puse glossy accents a los ojos de los pajaritos para darles brillo y dimensión.

I love the fact that they can be used for different occasions, as you can complete the message in the inside with whatever news you have.
Me encanta que pueden ser usadas para cualquiera ocasión, porque en el interior de la tarjeta se puede completar el mensaje con cualquiera que sea la noticia o evento.

Halloween Cards

 I made a couple of Halloween cards. I had the idea of drawing my own spider web, so I drew it with a versamark pen and white heat embossed it. I tried two effects, one with a light pressure on the pen and another with more defined and thicker lines. Both had good results.
Hice un par de tarjetas para Halloween. Tenía la idea de dibujar la telaraña, así que la hice con un rotulador Versamark y emboss de color blanco. Probé de dos maneras, una haciendo poca presión con el rotulador y otra con líneas más definidas y gruesas. Ambas me dieron buenos resultados. 

 Then I used Distress Inks and the distress tool to blend the ink for the background, I love to see how the embossed areas resist the ink and the design comes to live.
Luego utilicé tintas Distress y la herramienta para difuminar la tinta en el fondo, me encanta ver como la parte que tiene el emboss resiste la tinta y comienza a verse el diseño.

 For the sentiments and elements of the card I used a stamp set from Stephanie Barnard. I heat embossed them with black, then added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella clear brush pen to the hat and ghost.
Para los mensajes y elementos de las tarjetas utilicé un set de sellos de Stephanie Barnard. Los coloqué haciendo embossing con calor en negro, y luego le agregué algo de brillo al sombrero y al fantasma con un Wink of Stella clear brush pen.

OCC Watercolor: Exploring Mediums. More Day 3

My last projects for day 3 of OCC were inspired on Shari Carroll´s techniques using gelatos.
Mis últimos proyectos para el 3er día de OCC estuvieron inspirados en la técnica que muestra Shari Carroll usando gelatos.

I used gelatos for the backgrounds, spread the color with my fingers and a wet wipe, then lifted some of the color using a stencil. As simple as that! But gorgeous and vibrant colors.
Utilicé gelatos para hacer los fondos, extendí los colores usando mis dedos y una toallita húmeda, y luego quité un poco del color s través de una máscara. ¡Así de sencillo! Pero con colores hermosos y brillantes.

Last night I got a special order and got my Bird Crazy stamp set and dies, I was so excited that I HAD to use them right away. They are adorable!
Anoche recibí una orden especial que traía mis nuevos sellos Bird Crazy y sus troqueles, estaba tan emocionada que TENIA que usarlos inmediatamente. ¡Son adorables!

I doodled a bit on the background imitating the shading of the birds to unify the cards.
Dibujé algunas líneas en los fondos imitando un poco las sombras de los pájaros para darle una apariencia más unificada.

It´s amazing how much fun I had making these cards and how much I like them, I don´t know if I´ll be able to give them away... hahaha!
Es increíble cuanto me divertí haciendo estas tarjetas y cuando me gustan, no sé si seré capaz de regalarlas... ¡jajaja!

This one is my favorite by far!

OCC Watercolor: Exploring Mediums. Day 3

 For the third day of OCC I gave it a try to Jennifer Rzasa's water coloring with pencils idea. I made two cards where I used my Faber-Castell watercolor pencils. 

Para el tercer día de OCC intenté la técnica de Jennifer Rzasa con lápices de acuarela. Hice dos tarjetas usando lápices de Faber-Castell. 

I didn't think I was able to draw something like this. Without much planing, just sketching a little bit with the lighter color and then adding a bit of the darker color, and watering down with a paint brush. I was careful not to over do it, it's hard to tell when to stop. I'm really surprised and happy with the results.
La verdad que no creía que podía pintar algo así. Con poca planificación, sólo haciendo un boceto con el color más claro y luego agregando un poco del color más oscuro, un poco de agua con el pincel. Tuve mucho cuidado de no exagerar, es difícil saber cuando parar.  Estoy sorprendida y fascinada con los resultados.

OCC Watercolor: Exploring Mediums. Day 2

 For day 2 of my OCC class I chose to make a card with a city skyline, it was the example that Jennifer Rzasa gave us in the class, I loved the vibrant colors she achieved using watercolors, because it´s not the typical soft colors we usually find in watercolor pieces.
Para el segundo día de clases en OCC decidí crear una tarjeta con el contorno del horizonte de una ciudad, fue el ejemplo que hizo Jennifer Rzasa en su clase, me encantaron los colores que logró usando acuarelas, porque no son los tonos suaves que normalmente encontramos en pinturas con acuarelas.

I made 2 cards, one on black cardstock and the other on craft. I like the black one better, but I like trying different ways.
Hice 2 tarjetas, una con cartulina negra y otra con color craft. Me gustó mucho más la que combiné con negro, pero me gusta probar varias opciones.

 I used an old set of watercolors from Winsor & Newton that I´ve had for years.
Utilicé un set de acuarelas de Winsor & Newton que tengo desde hace mucho tiempo.

These cards are my family´s favorite, they really liked the vibrant colors. I like them too ;)
Estas tarjetas son las favoritas de mi familia, les encantaron los colores vibrantes. A mi también ;)

Online Card Classes, Watercolor: Exploring Mediums

I love joining OCC classes, they are easy to follow, they are full of inspiration, they have great guests and they always have wonderful ideas. 
Me encanta apuntarme a las clases de OCC, son fáciles de seguir, están llenas de inspiración, tienen excelentes invitadas y siempre tienen maravillosas ideas. 

This time they have a watercolor class about exploring different media, it's great to see how to use different material in different ways. 
Esta vez tienen una clase de acuarelas para explorar distintos materiales, es una manera excelente de ver cómo se usan distintos materiales en distintas formas. 

My first creation for the class is a card using markers, I used distress markers, I heat emboss the stamped image and color them with the markers blending with water. 
Mi primera creación para la clase fue utilizando rotuladores, utilicé los rotuladores distress, con grabado de calor estampé la imagen y luego la pinté con estos rotuladores mezclando con agua.

Since I wanted to practice a little bit I decided to make three panels, just to experiment and try different ways to add the pigment from the markers, I ended up liking all of them so I turned them into three different cards. 
Como quería practicar un poco decidí hacer tres paneles, para experimentar y probar diferentes maneras de agregar los pigmentos desde los rotuladores, y terminaron gustándome todos, así que los convertí todos en tarjetas.

I like that they are similar but they will always be unique because of the watercolor effect. 
Me encanta que todas son similares pero siempre serán únicas por el efecto de las acuarelas.

Now I'm off to create a few more cards with some other techniques from the second class. 
Y ahora me voy a crear un poco más con las técnicas de la segunda clase.
