Ana Bondu Workshop in Madrid

 I had the pleasure of attending Ana Bondu´s workshops at Komola Krafts in Madrid. It was a weekend full of techniques, colors, paints, inks, wonderful people and lots of fun.
Tuve el placer de asistir a los talleres de Ana Bondu en Komola Krafts, en Madrid. Fue un fin de semana lleno de técnicas, colores, pinturas, tintas, gente maravillosa y mucha diversión.

Ana demonstrated different ways of using the Gelli Plate with paints and inks, masks and textured materials. Then we worked with Brushos and different techniques on how to get the most out of them. We spent the whole day on Saturday trying everything out, so we made hundreds of gorgeous backgrounds.
Ana hizo demostraciones de diferentes formas de usar la Gelli Plate con pinturas, tintas, stencils, y materiales con texturas. Luego trabajamos con Brushos y diferentes técnicas para sacarles el mejor provecho. Pasamos el sábado entero probando todo, así que hicimos cientos de fondos espectaculares.

On Sunday we worked on a beautiful book made from scratch, we put in practice many of the techniques we worked on the previous day plus a few more ideas she gave us on the way.
El domingo trabajamos en un libro que hicimos desde cero, pusimos en práctica muchas de las técnicas que habíamos trabajado el día anterior más unas ideas que ella nos fue dando durante el día.

The girls at Komola were wonderful, everything was perfectly set for us to work comfortably and in a cosy environment, and with delicious meals and snacks...and of course coffee at all times. Thank you girls!
Las chicas de Komola fueron maravillosas, todo estuvo preparado perfectamente para trabajar cómodas y en un ambiente muy agradable, y con comidas y meriendas muy ricas...y por supuesto, cafecito a toda hora ¡Gracias chicas!

Carolyn Peeler workshop

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking 3 workshops with Carolyn Peeler at Bambola Casa Creativa. She is an awesome teacher and the girls at Bambola are excellent hostesses. 
It was great meeting new people and dedicate time to my passion.
Hace un par de semanas tuve el placer de tomar 3 talleres con Carolyn Peeler en Bambola Casa Creativa. Ella es una profesora increíble y las chicas de Bambola son unas excelentes anfitrionas.
Fue genial conocer gente nueva y dedicar tiempo a mi pasión.

My dear friend Cata was the translator for all the workshops and I helped a bit with her gorgeous daughter, Sara, as she joined all the classes.
Mi querida amiga Cata fue la traductora para todos los talleres, y yo estuve ayudando un poco con su guapísima hija Sara, que estuvo con nosotras en todas las clases.

On the first day we made cards. They were simple to make but with that cute Carolyn style. Later on, I made a few more cards with the rest of the materials from the kit.
El primer día hicimos tarjetas. Eran fáciles de hacer, pero con ese estilo lindo Carolyn . Luego hice unas cuantas más con el resto de los materiales del kit.

On the next day we made a pocket scrapbooking album, I didn't have pictures to add but I enjoyed cutting and deciding what pattered paper I wanted to use. It's going to look awesome when I add pictures and journaling...and embellishments.
Al día siguiente hicimos un álbum scrapbooking de bolsillos, yo no tenía fotos para agregar pero me gustó cortar y decidir cuales papeles quería utilizar. Se va a ver increíble cuando agregue fotos y journaling ... y adornos.

On the last workshop we made a book from scratch. We worked on a kind of binding I've never done before. Now I need to add some quotes and stamps to some pages. Carolyn suggested to use it as an art journal, to try techniques and different media.
En el último taller hicimos un libro desde de cero. Trabajamos en un tipo de encuadernado que yo nunca había hecho. Ahora tengo que añadir algunas citas y sellos a algunas páginas. Carolyn sugirió utilizarlo como un art journal, para probar técnicas y diferentes materiales.

During each workshop there was a raffle for some yummy products; and the best part is that I won in ALL three. The whole group had to laugh and gave me a "hard" time for winning all the time.
Durante cada taller hubo una rifa de algunos productos espectaculares; y la mejor parte es que gané en las tres. Todo el grupo se echó a reír y se metían conmigo por haber ganado todo el tiempo.

It was an awesome weekend!

Araguaney

 This is a layout I made about a tree called "Araguaney". It is the national tree in Venezuela.
Esta es una página que hice sobre un árbol llamado Araguaney. Es el árbol nacional de Venezuela.

 This was a commission I got from some friends to decorate their Cafe. I made all the pictures they have at the Cafe a few years ago and they wanted to add an Araguaney as that's the name of their place. Antojos Araguaney Gourmet.

Este trabajo fue un encargo que me hicieron unos amigos para decorar su Café. Hace unos años hice los cuadros para decorar el Café y querían que agregáramos otro de un Araguaney ya que ese es el nombre de su Café: Antojos Araguaney Gournet.

Just the way you are

The prompt for this entry was to get inspired by a song. I chose "just the way you are" by Bruno Mars.
El tema para esta entrada era inspirarse en una canción. Escogí "just the way you are" de Bruno Mars.

I played with stencils and modelling paste, I love all the texture.
Utilicé stencils y pasta de modelar, me encanta la textura que le dio.

The letters for my tittle I cut them by hand, I didn't draw them before cutting, I wanted them "unperfect".
Las letras para el título las corté a mano, no las dibujé antes de cortarlas, quería que fueran "imperfectas".

Calm & Happy

Since we moved back to Madrid I've been trying to craft more often, but between unpacking boxes and getting settled it was a bit hard. Now that I'm passed that stage and unpacked all my crafts supplies I've been crafting on a regular basis...it makes me so happy! 

Desde que nos mudamos de regreso a Madrid he estado tratando de hacer manualidades más a menudo, pero entre desempacar cajas y adaptarse al cambio ha sido difícil. Ahora que ya pasé esa etapa y desempaqué todos mis materiales de manualidades he estado creando y "scrapeando" regularmente ... me hace tan feliz!

I joined a group of friends that get together once a week in Alcobendas. We do a little bit of everything; sewing, art journaling, scrapbooking... And our wonderful host, Isabel, always treats us with delicious snacks and a well deserved coffee. 

Me uní a un grupo de amigas que se reúnen una vez a la semana en Alcobendas. Hacemos de todo un poco, coser, art journaling, scrapbooking ... Y nuestra maravillosa anfitriona, Isabel, siempre nos deleita con deliciosos postres y un café bien merecido.

Usually somebody suggests a theme, a technique, or a prompt and we get working. I've been able to work on my art journal a lot.

Por lo general, alguien sugiere un tema, una técnica o un mensaje y y nos ponemos a trabajar. He podido trabajar bastante en mi art journal.

Today I'm showing the first activity we worked on this year, we were supposed to create a page for our art journals about our goals for this new year. 

Hoy les muestro la primera actividad en la que trabajamos este año, el tema era crear una página para nuestros art journals acerca de nuestras metas u objetivos para este nuevo año.

After thinking what I wanted the most for this year I decided to title my page: Calm & Happy. I also made a list of things I should do in order to achieve the statement my tittle makes. 

The page doesn't involve many techniques, I started by applying gesso to prime my surface. Then played with some stencils and spray paints. I embedded some ripped dictionary pages, some knitted ribbon,  and clear embossed the handwritten tittle.

I'm happy with the result; and I liked having it almost finished in one session. 

Después de pensar en lo que más quería en este año decidí titular mi página: Calm & Happy (tranquila y feliz). También hice una lista de cosas que debo hacer para conseguir esa meta que mi título propones.

La página no tiene muchas técnica, comencé aplicando gesso para preparar la superficie. Luego jugué con algunas plantillas y pinturas en spray. He pegado algunas páginas de diccionario rasgadas, un poco de cinta de punto, y embossing transparente sobre el título que escribí a mano.

Estoy contenta con el resultado, y me gusta mucho que casi la terminé en una sola sesión.
