Art journal: Amor

I worked a bit on my art journal, finally! I had started this page long time ago; a couple of months ago I painted a few backgrounds with some watercolors, I was in the mood and thought it could save me time in the future. I didn’t have any idea of what to do with this blue one; I just painted it blue because it’s my favorite color and it always work as the sky or water…

Por fin trabajé un poco en mi art journal. Había comenzado esta página hace mucho tiempo, hace un par de meses pinté varios fondos con acuarelas, estaba de ánimo y pensé que me podría ahorrar tiempo en el futuro tener varios fondos listos. No tenía idea de qué hacer con este azul, sé que hice uno azul porque es mi color favorito y siempre funciona como el cielo o el agua ...

I wanted to make a colorful page, but I’m starting to notice I’m afraid of using too much color, even though I love vivid colors and contrast I tend to keep my color palette to a few similar hues. I stayed on my comfort zone and didn’t add as much color as I had wanted, I even tone down the blue background with a white wash, well, it actually worked as a way to embed the script paper I added. At the end I decided to add some red to add some spark using red india ink splatters and red stazon ink and clear stamps. I like how it turned out.

Quería hacer una página de colores, pero estoy empezando a notar tengo miedo de usar demasiado color, aunque me gustan los colores vivos y el contraste, creo que tiendo a mantener mi paleta de colores a una pocas tonalidades similares. Me quedé en mi zona de confort y no le puse tanto color como quería, incluso bajé el tono de fondo azul con una “wash” blanco, bueno, en realidad funcionó como una manera de integrar el papel escrito que agregué. Al final decidí añadir un poco de rojo para darle un poco de chispa con salpicaduras rojas con tinta china y tinta stazon roja y sellos transparentes. Me gusta cómo quedó.
